Résumé

My name is Christiaan Polet and I am a student at the Institute for Media (School of Journalism) based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Apart from my study I work as a freelance journalist for various online media.

In 2007 I started working for the company thePlayer Media, which meant writing for the dutch website thePlayer.nl. Besides writing news about video-games and electronics, I write reviews and previews. In 2008 and 2009 I reported from the biggest gameconference in Europa, the Leipzig Games Convention ('08) and the GamesCom ('09) in Cologne, Germany.

The year after that I started working as a voluntarily freelancer for the famous American hip-hop website Aftermathmusic.com. For this website I write English news reports about the developments which the hip-hop-label Aftermath Entertainment has.

In september 2009 my study 'Journalism on Bachelor Degree' started on the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht). I received my common foundation last summer. The study has a minimal time span of four years.

The same month I started writing for MediaInside.nl. On that website, I write news reports, reviews, previews, background stories and opinions about video-games and music.

In december 2009 I became a part of the editorial staff for the website DrugPers.nl. On that website the news is presented in a new way and in addition we publish background stories and sharp opinions.

In 2010 I started my own game website, GameCensor.nl. Since 4 februari the website is offline. I am the Editor-in-Chief.

Since 2011 I am also working as a text editor for communications consultant Zwerm.
